[Bug 1725525] Re: Cannot complete installation in Ubuntu 17.10

can someone please explain noobies how did you fix it? 
I tried to kill plymouth but there is no such process running.
I'v encountered this bug on an upgrade from 17.04 as well as on a fresh 17.10.
now it's stuck and i know how to get out of it but i still need the openvpn package.
