No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS
Release: 16.04
Codename: xenial
apt-cache policy rpcbind
rpcbind:
Installed: 0.2.3-0.2
Candidate: 0.2.3-0.2
This bug was opened on 2016-03-16 against Xenial.
It was posted that the rpcbind package was fixed on 2016-06-01.
It is now 2018-07-12 and the package is still not in the repositories.
Is rpcbind (0.2.3-0.4) really not going to be introduced into the repositories for the LTS it affects? Is this not the type of change an LTS branch is expected to receive?

Description: Ubuntu Xenial Xerus (development branch)
Release: 16.04
rpcbind does not start on boot, tried various systemd debugging steps
with no clues. After boot systemctl start rpcbind works. There is a
/etc/init.d/rpcbind and a /lib/systemd/system/rpcbind.service config
files which is confusing.
