Since this is a quite low priority topic and can easily be circumvented by just restarting the installation or opening a d-i shell in parallel and deactivate it there manually in parallel,
it hasn't been worked on.
(And btw. that is the way d-i behaves tight now - similarly also on other architectures.)
Hence it does not look like to be included in cosmic.

Within the "Configure direct access storage devices (DASD)" menu,
Requirement:
It should be possible to de-select items, if one or more DADS could be selected.
Test case: After selection of one or more DASDs in the "Configure
direct access storage devices (DASD)" menu, there is no way to de-
select them.
