Public bug reported:

I am relatively new to Linux so forgive me if I make a mistake. I
decided recently that I would prefer to start using Ubuntu Mate 18.04 as
my main OS and have a small Windows 10 partition solely for Steam and
gaming. I installed windows with a 55Gb partition (and its auto created
hidden one) Then for the remaining space I set 4Gb swap and then the
remaining 180Gb for Ubuntu. During the install everything appears to be
working fine until I get an error that roughly states " grub failed to
install...cannot boot without grub". I have been playing around with
different Ubuntu variants and never receive this error if I do a
complete wipe of the disk and install only Linux. Is the boot loader
messed up because of windows? I'm not sure what I should do to fix this,
any help is appreciated. Thanks!
