I was tired of windows 10, so tried using Ubuntu single os setup for my
pc.

Ubuntu 18.04

all I did-
I have 1 tb hard disk.
allocated 200gb for root(so i don't have issues installing apps, ever)
10gb for swap considering i have 8gb ram (having same sized swap as the ram, saw it in some tutorials)
rest of the space for home
