You are booting in bios mode but using a GPT partitioned disk.  This
requires a 1 mb bios_grub partition.

Bug description:
  The installation of Ubuntu 18.04 ended in error because it was unable to install grub.
  I was installing over an already functioning Ubuntu 18.04
