No, this error "$MFTMirr does not match $MFT (record 28)" has nothing to
do with boot mode - it's a file system issue that can be fixed sometimes
by performing "chkdisk.exe /f" on that filesystem.

But sometimes even "chkdisk" won't help, most probably because of that:

I actually had that problem with a 3 TB NTFS volume, but now I cannot
reproduce it because of not using that disk any more.

Bug description:
  During the last stage of graphical installer I got this error:
  "$MFTMirr does not match $MFT (record 28)" on mouting /dev/sdc1 (ntfs
  partition) that prevented grub to be installed on the main hard drive.

  I already posted about this error on ubuntu-devel-
  discuss at lists.ubuntu.com (topic "ntfs-3g issue caused by Windows 10
  creators update") but this email was completely ignored by maintainers
  despite that this problem is critical for using Ubuntu Desktop on bare
  metal.

  Can you please fix this problem ASAP?
