Public bug reported:

In https://github.com/samba-team/samba/pull/64, support for Apple time-
machine backup has been added. As AFP and other options are gone (I
believe in favour of a CIFS implementation), is it possible that Ubuntu
will merge these upstream patches in Samba packages for bionic or non
LTS systems? It would be a real dealmaker for simple NAS-systems and
such. Well, that would be my use case, but I'm sure more people would be
glad.

** Affects: samba (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
