Both /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/apt/package.py and
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/apt/progress/text.py come from the same
package, python-apt.  Does the file /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-
packages/apt/progress/text.py exist on your system?  If you run 'sudo
apt-get install --reinstall python-apt' does the error go away?
