Ok, so i tested alternative ISO, and it works from USB/BIOS mode.
So, the issue is with grml-rescueboot on 16.04. There are several
manuals on internet suggesting to use GRML for booting ubuntu installer
ISO, and all other ISOs (except alternate) are working fine.
** Also affects: grml-rescueboot (Ubuntu)

Bug description:
I downloaded Alternate installer due to needed MDADM support from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/18.04/release/ubuntu-18.04-server-
amd64.iso (md5 sum: 1413c9797dbfa1e57fabfb5c91cfb96f)
When booting it, only available option is "Test memory".
I tested few other images (desktop, live-server, mate-desktop), they
are all working through the same boot method (GRML), however they lack
mdadm support
