Well there are two types of messages......

.... if it is a pretty one, it will able to reboot

.... if it is the ugly one, it tells the user to reboot - meaning manual
hard reset.

.... if there is no message, that's bad.

I'm curious what needs to be done, when no message is shown? bios or
uefi boot? straight to installation or try-ubuntu first?

Bug description:
  Cosmic Desktop 20181003

  After installation the message to remove the installation media and
  reboot is not always displayed. Instead there is a black page with a
  blinking cursor on the top left. The message can be displayed by
  pressing alt-right_arrow 5 times.

  On a UEFI installation, even if the text message is displayed, the
  user cannot reboot and have to switch to the purple page to actually
  be able to reboot.
