I managed to fix my system by booting a live system, chrooting into my
installation and manually running `update-initramfs -u`. Still, this
should be looked into.

  New

Bug description:
  I upgraded fom Kubuntu 18.04 to 18.10 by running `do-release-upgrade`
  in the terminal. The process completed without any obvious problems.
  After rebooting, the system no longer boots, it gets stuck as seen in
  the attachment.
