I currently cannot reproduce the bug anymore, it seems to be fixed.

(Additionally I noticed, that the SD-card I was using to install the
image had a single broken bit. It's possible that this caused the
problem.)

  Hi,

  I've tried to install a fresh Lubuntu Alternate 18.04 and installation
  aborted due to a problem with configuration of update-notifier-common,
  see attached screenshot.
