[Bug 1793956] [NEW] After upgrade from 16.04 to 18.04 : GDM login failure

Public bug reported:

Hi ,

One of our client upgraded his system ( full intel from clevo ) from
16.04 to 18.04.


After that he cannot login from GDM (tried ubuntu/Unity/gnome-flashback) 

However he can login from VT1 .

No "password incorrect" error is returned just looping back to gdm
welcome screen.
