I already did. This is on 16.04

Also, until issue 1164016 is fixed (again), it is impossible to upgrade
and still keep using the computer, unless one can live without Nautilus
that is.

Title:
Bullshit and uninformative "check your internet connection" error
  message

Status in update-manager package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I run Software Updater;
A progress bar shows up that showed some activity, with messages saying "loading this", "downloading that", a lot of them.
Then, at the end, this idiotic popup up saying:

  "Failed to download repository information
  Check your internet connection"
  with 3 buttons:
Settings - Try Again - OK

With "Try again" the exact same happens again and again.
Obviously my internet connection is fine.

"Check your internet connection" is a completely bullshit and useless
  error message.

You should tell me EXACTLY WHAT "repository information" you were unable to download, and the kind of error.
There should be a "details" button to see all the fucking details about the failed download: the exact requests made, the URLs, the responses from the server if any or the details of whatever network error exactly occurred.
So that I can properly diagnose the issue, given that you are not.

It is especially idiotic to show a message saying "Check your internet
connection" when you have just been able to download quite a lot of
stuff, so it's obviously one particular download that is failing, and
you don't even tell me which fucking one.

  This is pathetic.

And after wasting time retrying several times and reporting this issue, I find out that if I click OK it goes on with the updates. So it's not even clear what the failed download implies.
One more reason for needing to know what the fuck exactly failed to download.
