Come to think of it, I'd say we should always fade (or transition
somehow without "flicker") into an Ubuntu logo. Regardless of whether
BGRT is present.

That way people get a better idea of when Ubuntu is starting and it
doesn't look like it's stuck on the BIOS.

  New

Bug description:
  On a fairly new Lenovo laptop (T580) I tested, it doesn't have BGRT
  defined. So it's empty above the spinner.

  I also tried Windows to see how it handles when BGRT is missing, it
  shows a Windows logo for this case.
