This was an attempt at a rollback from Xubuntu 20.04 (alpha) to 19.10,
without reformatting the root partition first. Not surprisingly, it
ended badly.

Title:
wily install over previous centos install crashes

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I am installing wily over a previous centos install without formatting
the partition as I would like to preserver /home which is not a
separate partition. The installer crashes mid-way while trying to do
so. A lot of packages were built and some were installed before the
  crash occurred.
