The other bug report has been marked as incomplete.

Any news on this? Not being to select the OS to be loaded should really
be treated as a high priority bug.

Bug description:
  Grub menu is there, but not visible on screen, which is stuck on
  previous bios output. Installing 18.04 grub fixes the problem.
