Encountered this problem today installing Kubuntu 19.10.
A previous attempt to install resulted in bug 1846918, though this was
with the beta installer.
The first attempt with the final installer had no crash. Now I'm having
this problem.
I'm not sure what has resulted in these differences.

Title:
ubiquity: stuck at "Copying installation logs..." message during
installation
Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Testing today's ISO image on an Lenovo X220i:
Image: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20120822/quantal-desktop-amd64.iso following ISO test case:
Testcases:

http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/219/builds/21646/testcases/1305/results
I got almost to the end of the installation but it never completed.
The current message at the bottom of the installer screen is:
"Copying installation logs..."
after 40 minutes I gave up waiting.
"vmstat 1" shows no I/O activity
"top" shows no installation processes busy, system looks idle.
