Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better.
This package failure looks like it was caused by bad ISO download,
corrupted install media, or device failure. eg. look in the logs and
you'll see messages like these :-
Dec 21 06:37:24 lubuntu kernel: [ 1286.894666] SQUASHFS error: zlib decompression failed, data probably corrupt
Dec 21 06:37:24 lubuntu kernel: [ 1286.894681] SQUASHFS error: squashfs_read_data failed to read block 0x177be846
Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be
a useful bug report so I am closing it, as it appears to be a bad ISO or
faulty device (inc. bad write-to-device). If you believe I'm in error,
please leave a comment explaining why and change the status back to
'New'. I suggest you verify your ISO download, and use the 'check disc
for defects' option to validate your media before install to ensure a
good download & write.

verify-ubuntu#0 and

(Note: CD refers to your install media; or where you wrote the ISO file.
It can be a CD/DVD/HDD/SSD/thumb-drive; ie. your install media)

Title:
install lubuntu 18.04 alongside xubuntu 18.04
Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
I have made a full install bootable USB flash drive for lubuntu 18.04.
The problem happened after trying to partition the HDD (80 GB IDE). It
said something about CD/DVD is not clean (IDE), which I'm not using to
install and is not faulty as it works well with xubuntu. Terminal
shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+T) not working. I'm in the mid-way of installation,
which is not completed. So I can't attach the files /var/log/syslog
and /var/log/partman. As I have to reboot the system, to access my
xubuntu (hopefully, keep my fingers crossed). Installation crashed.
