Title:
os-prober truncates initrd line, results in kernel panic

Status in os-prober:
  Unknown
Status in os-prober package in Ubuntu:
  New
Status in os-prober package in Debian:
  Unknown

Bug description:
With multiple initrd paths (e.g. for intel microcode) os-prober and linux-boot-prober report only the first part, the microcode. The /boot/initrd.img is missing.
A resulting grub.cfg is therefore incomplete and can’t boot the OS.

This issue is known since 2016 but still lurking in 2019:
  https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/index.php?47681
  and
  https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=820838

It seems the problem is to substitute a caret by a blank?
