Title:
Fresh install from flash disk fails (can't read packages)
Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I wiped out my old Linux ext4 partition and created a new partition
(alongside Windows).
The installer seems to be fine -- copying files, OK -- and then it
tries to read package indexes from the USB stick that I'm installing
from. Here, this step fails and it causes the installer process to
crash.
I am going to try again from a DVD, but if that fails again, I will
have no choice but to go back to Ubuntu (vanilla). I really want the
audio configuration from Ubuntu Studio but if the installer is
broken... don't have time for that.
