Tony, if you look at the log files that got submitted with the bug
report, they can be found in the file named VarLogDistupgradeAptlog.txt.
Towards the bottom of the log file, all of the lines that started with
"broken" indicated packages that needed to be removed.

  Updating from 16.04 to 18.04

Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I read it is because of some PPA. I used the ubuntu tool to remove all
  of them, but I keep on getting that error. I tried several things that
  I read online, but nothing worked for me. I would really appreciate
  any help.
