Could be, but flashing 16.04.5 and booting the installation with
nomodeset modprobe.blacklist=nouveau gives me no error. I then upgrade
from 16.04.5 to 18.04 and from 18.04 to 18.10 and that works just fine
all the way. It's about booting the 18.04 and 18.10 iso's that refuse to
work.
