  live boot fails (login) version 17.10.1

Status in syslinux package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  I am attempting my go at my first live disk (do be used to load ubuntu on a win box.
  The problem i am having is that the login box never appears.  Looking at the log reveals that the login is in a loop.  it gets started, fails and trys to start again.

  Help!
