Hi Dan,
The key part of the upgrade log is:
Running in non-interactive mode, doing nothing.

dpkg: error processing package shim-signed (--configure):
installed shim-signed package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
This shows that:
- you had dkms modules installed before the upgrade, but you had not configured your system with a machine owner key to use for Secure Boot
- as part of the upgrade, you have installed an additional dkms module (bbswitch)
- you are running in a non-interactive mode, making it impossible for the upgrader to prompt you about configuration of the MOK.
Also, based on the date stamp of the crash report and the reported date
of your upgrade to bionic, it looks like this is unrelated to the actual
upgrade.
Do you recall manually installing the bbswitch package? What command do
you use to manage the software packages installed on your system?
Running 'sudo apt -f install' from the commandline should be sufficient
to fix up this installation failure. It would still help us to have the
answers to the above questions, to understand why you were not shown the
critical debconf prompt.

Bug description:
This is most likely from the failed upgrade attempt from Ubuntu Studio to Bionic Beaver.
I was simply following the prompts to report bug.
Was thinking of doing the following: sudo apt-get auto-remove to
remove unsigned kernels then try the upgrade again, could you please
confirm if this is a valid course of action.
