Ubuntu 17.10 (artful) reached end-of-life on July 19, 2018.

Bug description:
  Installer crashed after attempting to check the 'format partition'
  checkbox for / (root) in the main partition list view. Partition can
  still be marked for formatting correctly by selecting the partition,
  editing it and marking the checkbox on the edit dialog-box.
