Just for the context:

Now I can remember, that the installation encountered problems while trying to update the bootloader:

I could not go further retrying and/or skip (it was not frozen, but
clicks did not have any effect) which is why I hardly switched off my
computer at this point.

It might have avoid any post installation cleanup. If this is the case,
then just ignore this bug.

Title:
Unexpected "Install RELEASE" launcher after installation

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
An unexpected "Install RELEASE" is present on my installed system
after downloading and running as USB key the Ubuntu installer from
  https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop/thank-
  you?country=DE&version=18.04.2&architecture=amd64

This is not a huge problem but it is confusing...

I found the suggestion to report a bug here
(https://askubuntu.com/a/338952) relevant. I will not further track
this bug and you can set it as "Will not fix" if you want, since I do
not plan to install once again my system (next planned: Ubuntu 20.04)
and I fixed my problem (by removing ubiquity).

However, it might be interesting to double check for the current
  version and coming 20.04.
