You need to start a new zsh to test those changes, i.e. open a new
terminal or starting zsh from bash.

These commands generally work on Linux, too. Point is just that they
don't undo things which have been commented out from .zshrc. Hence you
need to start a new zsh everytime you comment out or remove something
from your .zshrc.

ZSH not working
Status in zsh package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
After installing zsh I couldn't run any commands. After typing command
like e.g: ls if I press enter it does nothing just plays an error
sound on Ubuntu 18.10.
Below is my system spec.
Laptop: Chuwi Lapbook SE
Running OS: Ubuntu 18.10
Processor: Intel Gemini Lake 4100
RAM: 4GB
