Public bug reported:
----------------
Environment info
----------------
-> lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS
Release: 18.04
-> Grub package versions:
grub-common 2.02-2ubuntu8.13
grub-efi-amd64 2.02-2ubuntu8.13
grub-efi-amd64-bin 2.02-2ubuntu8.13
grub-efi-amd64-signed 1.93.14+2.02-2ubuntu8.13
grub-legacy-ec2 1:1
grub-pc 2.02-2ubuntu8.2
grub2-common 2.02-2ubuntu8.13
-----
Issue
-----
After editing /etc/default/grub variable:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT
and then running
update-grub
Checking /boot/grub/grub.cfg, values are not seen.
However if the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX variable is used, the values can be
seen in grub.cfg
The GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT does not seem to add the values to
grub.cfg after running update-grub
According to the documentation:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT -> added to normal mode
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX -> added to both normal and recovery modes
So I am expecting the values to be seen even when I only use
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT
** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
