Title:
subpixel rendering doesn't respect screen rotation

Status in freetype package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid
Status in wayland package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  1) Open gnome-terminal
  2) xrandr --output default --rotate inverted
  2) Open another gnome-terminal

In both the original and the new terminal, text has red and blue
"shadows" caused by subpixel rendering that doesn't match up to the
inverted pixel layout resulting from the screen being flipped 180
  degrees.
