The bug is still there in kubuntu 18.04.2 and it confusing.  I needed to
encrypt the disk so I selected that option, but there was no indication
what those boxes were for.  It was obvious they were required however
since the Continue button was grayed out when selecting that option.  I
finally decided it must be for passphrase entered twice, and that proved
correct.

Bug description:
  On Kubuntu 17.04 and 18.04 RC, testing LVM Encryption, I noticed there
  were two fields where you enter matching LVM encryption passwords. But
  the fields have no labels on them.
