[Bug 1890039] [NEW] attempting to install ubuntu 20.04 and the installer crashed saying it was unable to run grub installer

Public bug reported:

I am running on a pretty odd setup trying to get an installation onto a
usb stick but as far as I know that should work, there is a chance that
the bus simply flaked out during installation. If needed I can test if
thats the case further and frankly I am going to continue trying to do
the same thing.
