Hi, thanks for responding so quickly. The reason for it being reported
for the installer was that I wasn't sure what package to manually report
this bug to, so I launched apport-bug in the terminal to get a guided
bug report option, where I selected "Sound/audio related problems". I
figured this way was a catch-all type of thing since I did not know
whether to report it for pulseaudio or alsa.
The reason why I don't think this is just a support issue is that
usually it works fine, until it periodically doesn't, and I have found
no configuration solution either triggering or fixing the issue.
Microphone input intermittently no longer working sounds like a bug,
doesn't it? I can definitely see my report as being too vague to be of
help, but I was hoping to get some tips for how to get more logs that
could shine a light on why it stops working.

Title:
HyperX Cloud II USB headset mic randomly stops working
Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I have a HyperX Cloud II USB headset I've been using with Kubuntu
20.04 for a good while, and usually it works fine. Sometimes though,
the microphone stops working, and I cannot for the life of me figure
why. Pulling out the USB and putting it into another computer, also
with Kubuntu 20.04, makes it work there but doing the reverse again
doesn't help.
I've tried different USB ports, checking it's not muted with the
hardware button, checked alsamixer, pavucontrol and everything I can
think of. Restarting does not help either. But then, after a few days,
it tends to start working again, without me having any idea why. It
kinda drives me nuts and I don't even know how to debug it properly,
since it happens seemingly at random and it fixes itself at random.
Maybe there's some kind of firmware issue? How would I potentially
find out?
