Title:
ubuntu mate 18.04.4 qa-install didn't complete (fail) - install (auto-
  resize)

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
hp dx6120mt (mini-tower, pentium 4 dual core, 3gb, winfast clone of nvidia 7600gt)
((it didn't let me select drive which I hoped to do, but it's installing

install has hung up & is stuck -- I can use text terminal
  (ctrl+alt+f4) so exploring..

on display is "Removed libfcitx-qt5-1 I386)" is last message on GUI &
it just sits there.. slideshow doesn't change anymore; complete-% bar
  is maybe 85% complete.

using `top` nothing appears running.. I do see (journalctl)
  "log-output -t ubiquity umount /target/cdrom/"
which would confirm possibly it's late in install, followed by
  "ubuntu-mate finihsh-install[4884]: Disabling CDROM entries in sources.list"
  & some other stuff..

It sat there (no change in installer/gui) for an hour before filing
  this bug in text terminal

Expectation: It would have completed, or given useful error message
  telling me what was wrong.

Note: I hoped it would install to SDA only; I've tried to disable SDB & SDC in bios (suspect it doesn't allow it). I Sysrq-REISUB'd box, booted to live (um-18.04.4) & explored; it all looked okay. So rebooted again. Grub offered me loads of options, and top was a 18.04 (5.3 kernel) so I chose that. My new Ubuntu-MATE 18.04.4 install was there & perfectly valid it appears.

The issue appears to be installer became stuck. I used Sysrq-REISUB
which flushes buffers, but would my install be good if I'd turned
power off as I suspect a lot of users would have done after long wait?
