You created a google.list file with duplicates so it's your fault. The
Google packages will reinstall their sources.lomist files eventually.

It's important for users to know that there are duplicates as that can
easily lead to errors further down the road.

Bug description:
  Two duplicate entries in apt sources, that exist due to no fault of my
  own, generated 49 entirely unnecessary warnings every single time I
  ran apt-update or added a ppa today.

  The warnings were hiding actual error messages.

  The messages went away after deleting google-chrome.list and google-
  earth-pro.list but leaving google.list.

  You should not be harassing the user this way.   Duplicate entries can
  occur.  They are not a problem worthy of notifying the user, let alone
  harassing them.

  Approximate content of these files (based on the .save versions which
  I did not create) are shown below.   Note that these resulted from
  following googles installation instructions for multiple google
  packages, probably google-chrome, google-earth, and google-earth-pro.

  These errors suddenly started appearing today even though these
  sources were installed long ago.
