  Crash during Ubuntu 18.04 install to nvme drive

Status in grub-installer package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Doing standard install, selecting default options to a Dell 7920 tower
  resulted in a grub fatal error. I took the defaults for everything
  except the bootline which required the following additional options in
  order to boot the installer:

     ACPI=off nomodeset
