This release of Ubuntu is no longer receiving maintenance updates. If
this is still an issue on a maintained version of Ubuntu please let us
know.

Bug description:

  Attempting to upgrade to Grub2 on Maverick system following these
  instructions:

  https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2#Upgrading%20to%20GRUB%202

  When I try to install grub-pc I receive the following:

    grub-pc: Conflicts: grub (< 0.97-54) but 0.97-29ubuntu60 is installed.
    grub: Conflicts: grub-pc but 1.98+20100804-5ubuntu3 is to be installed.
