Title:
apport-kde never reports anything if called by crash handler
Status in apport package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Sometimes some (non-KDE) application crashes, I get the notification
by the crash handler (exclamation mark on orange background) and click
on it. I get a window asking me with a checkbox whether I want to
report a bug and whether to keep the application closed or restart it.
I click restart and can see in the process list (htop) that apport-kde
does some heavy lifting. After a while it is finished, but I never get
pointed to the launchpad website, see a bugreport number or anything
of that sort, which would indicate that apport-kde actually sent a
report.
dmesg says:
[16696.241296] chromium-browse[18546]: segfault at 30 ip 00000030 sp bfcc1dcc error 4 in libXrender.so.1.3.0[110000+8000]
/var/log/syslog has nothing in addition to the kernel message.
/var/log/apport.log says:
