Title:
grub-pc 2.02-2ubuntu8.1 fails in setup with ZFS root filesystem

Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
on trying to upgrade grub-pc today to version 2.02-2ubuntu8.1, I get
the following error on my server with ZFS root:

  Setting up grub-pc (2.02-2ubuntu8.1) ...
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: failed to get canonical path of `rpool/root'.
dpkg: error processing package grub-pc (--configure):
installed grub-pc package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   grub-pc
  E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

ZFS root worked fine with grub-pc prior to this package release, so
this feels like a package regression.
