Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  On 13.10 grub.conf is generated with the nomodeset option on all kernels by default.
  However, the radeon driver (ie xserver-xorg-video-radeon) requires modesetting and will not function in this case.
