Title:
Corrupted grub screen in Trusty alpha 2
Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
This is a continuation of bug 897921 which I've been requested to post
as a new bug. (I think the mention of "Precise" in the old title is
confusing.)
Hardware is
VGA compatible controller [0300]: VIA Technologies, Inc. CN896/VN896/P4M900 [Chrome 9 HC] [1106:3371] (rev 01)
Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Device [1043:81ce]
Output of lspci -vn is attached.
When I boot, the grub screen will appear to flash between appearing in
the normal position and one showing the left edge in the middle of the
screen. It makes choosing the correct entry from the menu more
difficult than it needs to be.
Grub itself behaves normally; it's just the display that's unstable.
This has been a constant issue on this machine ever since Precise
alpha 1.
