Public bug reported:
I was prompted by the update manager to perform some updates. I didn't
look closely at them as they looked like regular packages and so I
performed the update. After it completed I was prompted again by update
manager and this time it was security updates. I performed that update,
and once it was done it asked to reboot. I rebooted my system and it
came up to a splash screen with a spinning wheel with Ubuntu at the
bottom. I went for an hour walk and came back and it was still as the
same screen. I had to boot up into the Grub menu and selected the 5.4
kernel and it came up. Prior to this I was on the 5.5 kernel.
