Title:
wpa3 is used regardless of manual setting
Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
1) The release of Ubuntu you are using:
ubuntu-20.04.2.0-desktop-amd64
2) The version of the package:
ubiquity 20.04.15.10
3) What I expected to happen:
The ubuntu installer should respect the user setting for the wifi connection's encryption type and establish a WPA2 connection if I select "WPA & WPA2 Personal".
4) What happened instead:
The installer ignores the setting and tries to establish a WPA3 connection, since the network is WPA3 capable. Since my wifi card does not support WPA I get an error message from the network-manager ("Activation of network connection failed") and can't use the wifi connection during installation.
Workaround:
Liveboot into Ubuntu ("Try Ubuntu") and properly setup the wifi connection before launching the installer.
