I don't have time for fresh installs . . . but, as I've posted here a
few times, if grub2 is updated in any of my ubuntu or ubuntu based, and
likely in Debian . . . the grub menu and the 6 options menu are gone . .
. and usually only ubuntu will boot.
I have Lu 21.04, Linux Mint 20, and Debian Bullseye . . . the problem
has been going on for at least a year now . . . definitely was happening
in 20.04 and 20.10 iterations . . . I had a U-MATE 20xxxx install for
awhile that manifested this same issue, got corrupted and turned into
Debian.
I am too old to know for sure, but I don't think it was happening in
18xx???? Problem does not manifest with OpenSUSE options or Manjaro
options running grub2 updates.
