You appear to have packages installed from the universe part of the
Ubuntu archive but there is no entry for universe in
/etc/apt/sources.list file. This is likely causing the upgrade to the
new release of Ubuntu to fail. Please re-add universe to your
/etc/apt/soruces.list file install any updates for your current release
of Ubuntu and then try the upgrade again.

Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I am trying to upgrade from Ubuntu 18.04 to Ubuntu 20.04.1 using the
  "software updater" which prompts me that there is a new LTS release.

  Here is the error message:

  An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

   If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal. If you want to investigate this yourself the log files in '/var/log/dist-upgrade' will contain details about the upgrade. Specifically, look at 'main.log' and 'apt.log'.
