[Bug 1912072] [NEW] login customization is not working

I upgraded focal fossa to groovy gorilla and login customization is not
working anymore, I read similar problems online. I'm using UbuntuMATE
20.10.

the solutions on UbuntuMATE community doesn't seem to work, I changed
customization in settings but nothing happens, background keep the same.

Release 20.10 (Groovy Gorilla) 64-bit
Kernel Linux 5.8.0-38-generic x86_64
MATE 1.24.1

Memory 1505Gb
Processor i5-9300H CPU @2.4GHZ x8
Graphics GeForce GTX 1650/PCIe/SSE2
