Well this is a bit strange. Does anyone know when this started? The way
the ISO is put together hasn't changed since the hirsute release, so
this is probably related to a change in grub2 or shim. The bug was
reported less than 24 hours after a new version of grub2 landed which is
definitely something that makes one go "hmm". I'll reassign the package
there -- this certainly isn't a syslinux problem as that hasn't been
used at all to boot ISOs since focal, and afaik never ever when booting
via UEFI.

The test machines are:
1. Dell [ Optiplex] MT 7040 i7-6700 booting in UEFI mode
2. Dell [ Optiplex] MT 7060, i7-8700 booting in UEFI+secure boot mode
Boot from USB media fails with the message:
Failed to open /EFI/boot/? invalid parameter
