Ok, so I think we can consider it verified as much as it's possible. The
existing focal 'riscv64' preinstalled cdimage builds still work (that
use 'hifive' as the subarch in livecd-rootfs) and we did a few image
test builds on launchpad with the new subarch (e.g. [1]) - the image
builds failed, but we think this is unrelated to the livecd-rootfs
changes. Currently focal is still missing kernel, u-boot and possibly
other bits that are needed for building fully functional images - so
we'll know for sure if we got everything once all the other bits are
ready.
Let's get this migrated in the meantime. We can follow up with
additional changes if needed. livecd-rootfs is special in this way that
it does not affect regular users, so SRUs of this package are a bit less
risky.

Title:
Backport support for the riscv64 unmatched board
Status in livecd-rootfs package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Status in livecd-rootfs source package in Focal:
Fix Committed
Bug description:
[Impact]
Currently in focal (20.04.2) we only build the 'riscv64' image that
boots on the SiFive Unleashed board. In hirsute we added support for
the Unmatched variant. As part of HWE, we want to backport the support
for unmatched in livecd-rootfs and cdimage for the upcoming 20.04.3
milestone.
[Test Case]
Run image builds (best if done via cdimage) of both the unmatched and
unleashed devices using proposed enabled. If the builds succeed (or at
least by looking at the build logs, the builds seem to be working as
expected) this is already sufficient verification of this part of the
changes - checking if both boot successfully might be an additional
test case. For now it's sufficient for us to have buildable images.
[Where problems could occur]
If the cherry-picks are wrong, some non-preinstalled or non-riscv64
images can stop building or, due to issues with image generation,
become unbootable. But a quick check of one/two other daily images of
other flavors should be sufficient to make sure that's not the case.
