Thank you for taking the time to report this bug. However, Xubuntu 14.04
reached end-of-life in April of 2017. Please try installing a supported
version of Xubuntu.

N.B. Ubuntu LTS releases are supported for 5 years, with official
flavors (Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Xubuntu,Ubuntu Budgie, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu
Kylin, Ubuntu Studio) supported for 3 years of that LTS cycle.
